It exists because both sides of a booking are harder than they should be. Artists are great at making music. The business around it, the marketing, the invoicing, the calendar, is another job entirely, and that is time better spent on the art. Venues and clients have the opposite problem. Finding the right artist is hard, and keeping a brand consistent across rooms and nights is harder. Q Music sits in the middle and handles both, so artists can focus on the music and venues get consistent, on-brand talent that fits the room.

Q Music was founded by songwriter and musician Saam Hagshenas. His career started in 2008 when he signed to Lupe Fiasco's 1st and 15th Records with the band Hey Champ, and has since also toured internationally with Chicago band MONAKR and with Minneapolis artist Dessa. In 2014 he was asked to curate the DJ and live music program at Soho House Chicago, and after forming Q Music in 2016, has since expanded to curating additional Soho Houses, hotel and hospitality groups across the country.
